We didn’t have enough room and had to borrow the Anglican Church facilities to have our teaching sessions due to the several hundred who showed up for the 57th Anniversary Conference in Tasba Pounie, Nicaragua. I have worked with this group for the last twelve years and I felt very encouraged as I taught the eighty leaders. It seemed like only yesterday when I had sat on a porch in rocking chairs and listened to Pastor Demsy pour out his heart. He had been pastoring for several years by then but had never received any training, only what he had learned in Sunday School. With tears in his eyes he asked me if there was any way that I could help teach him the Bible. Since then I have been returning at least twice a year to train and develop those village pastors and leaders. Our Herald of Faith Bible University was birthed in this region to fill just that need – and praise God we have now sixty students midway through their first year of classes.
The churches in Nicaragua are now stronger than ever because you have helped. Thank you so much for your prayers and financial gifts. Without you we can’t, but with your help Herald of Faith is affecting the world. Already this year we have had teams in India, Honduras, Spain, Quebec and Nicaragua.
In mid-June I will be returning to Nicaragua for a Pastor’s retreat. Then in August Kathy and I will be heading for a long trip to Peru. For several years we have been helping a large church in Lima, but now Pastors in several smaller cities have also asked for our help. They want us to come and hold leadership training sessions. We will need your help once again. This trip will cost about $6540 for both travel expenses and a reprinting of our Leadership Workbook in Spanish.
Would you please help to send us to train those village pastors?
