It seemed like only yesterday when I had sat on a porch in rocking chairs and listened to Pastor Demsy pour out his heart. He had been pastoring for several years by then but had never received any training, only what he had learned in Sunday School.

Several years ago in the jungles of Kenya I was teaching a pastor’s conference when my interpreter told me that Masai warriors were outside the entrance of our large tent. The pastors were nervous because in the last two weeks the Masai warriors had been attacking Christians, especially pastors, and had killed two of this group’s members in nearby villages.
